“My son attends Heydays nursery and is currently in the pre-school room and my daughter attended before starting school last September. I could not have wished for a more caring, supportive, or fun environment for my children to begin their education. The staff are very knowledgeable, and I felt very secure leaving my children initially when they were babies as they were settled in gradually which made it easier to leave for work. At every point of their development, I have found staff easy to talk to, non-judgmental and really positive. Heydays nursery has a wonderful atmosphere where everyone is valued and made to feel welcome. Both my children have really loved Forest School lessons, visits to the wood and the park, caring for their environment through activities such as litter picking, learning about celebrations and tasting food associated with different cultures… the list goes on. The food provided is top quality and I always know they have eaten very healthily. My daughter asks me to pick her up first from after school club so she can come to her old nursery to see everyone! I think that says it all!”

“My daughter joined Hey Days a few months ago due to her nursery having to close. As parents we were nervous about changing her to a different setting as she has additional needs. The staff at Hey days, were brilliant from the initial email asking about places right up until her first day. My daughter is on the pathway for an ASC assessment and change for her is normally quite challenging. All the staff welcomed her with open arms. Nothing phased the staff even when we said she will need to carry her mum’s dressing gown around with her as it’s her comforter. My daughter is making small achievements each week which I believe is down to the staff. She has now settled in and enjoys her time at nursery.”

“My child has attended Hey Days Nursery since he was 11 months old. He is now almost 4 years old and every single one of those days has been filled with excitement, awe, and wonder. The experiences he is provided with are second to none. Enhancements to the curriculum such as Forest Schools, Yoga and more recently an introduction to speaking Spanish all demonstrate how Hey Days always go that extra mile. As parents, we are kept very well informed of planning through newsletters and get regular updates of observations through the nursery’s app. I know he has been supported to develop friendships and he talks so fondly of all staff within the setting. At the end of each day, I get a thorough ‘round up’ of what he’s been getting up to and all the staff are always so approachable. The foundations provided by Hey Days are without doubt laying down the very first building blocks for a lifetime love of learning for my child and for that I will always be grateful.”

The adults who work at Hey Days are wonderfully caring, and they are brilliant at communicating with parents. We have had extremely positive relationships with all her key workers in all three rooms. The nursery leaders are fantastic with dealing with any enquiries and they are the real heart and soul of the nursery. We know they will help us and do their very best for our children. “My son started at Hey Days baby room in May 2022 and I cannot praise the staff and setting enough! After a rocky start at another nursery, I was apprehensive about starting another nursery but I’m so glad I viewed hey days as instantly I knew it was the place for us! The setting is clean, welcoming and child focussed. You can see that staff all care deeply about their practice, the children, and their work environment. They clearly offer an open-door policy and no worry of mine has felt too much or too silly and staff strive to work with parents and children ensuring a home from home environment. My son has settled so well with his key worker Tracey, but all the baby room staff are amazing with him, and I feel he has a strong bond with them all. I love seeing all the updates on the app and the progression in his development. Choosing Hey Days was the right decision for our family, and I can’t wait to continue his learning journey here. “Our little girl was a lockdown baby, born in March 2020. The first year of her life was almost exclusively spent with us and very little time with family, friends, or other children. She started Hey Days in March 2021, just before she turned 1 & we cannot praise the nursery enough for how wonderful we think it is. We have used two other Outstanding private nurseries with our elder daughter (house moves) and Hey Days blows them out the water. I got an instant feeling of warmth, kindness, care & fun when I looked round, and those expectations have been met and then some. My daughter started in the baby room and despite her severe lack of socialisation, settled almost immediately. She developed a loving bond with her key worker Kris and secondary worker Dana, and I trusted that they took total care of her. All the adults in the room spoke about her as if she was the most important part of their day, would tell us funny stories about her & took the time to get to know our family, celebrating life events with us. Handovers were/are never rushed, we have always felt like we’ve had as much time as needed each evening (despite covid restrictions at times). We’ve really enjoyed using the app to share our photos and in return see photos of her at nursery and read about what she’s being doing. As we’ve moved to the Toddler Room, the standards are just as high. She has again developed a loving bond with her key worker Amy and talks about her as her friend at home. She has been a bit more tearful about drop off over the past month and all the staff have worked so hard to help her feel safe and comforted while she says goodbye to me. They’ve kept us updated of how she is during the day, and we’ve felt very reassured. We fully trust that our precious little girl is very safe, is very loved and is very happy in their care. The staff are brilliant. We couldn’t recommend Hey Days more highly to anyone.”

“I am a parent to 3 children, 2 of which have used Hey Days as their childcare provider over the years, and our youngest is due to start attending Hey Days in March. As a reception class teacher, I am fortunate to have the opportunity to visit several settings in the Holme Valley each year for transition purposes. Hey days, is a wonderful, nurturing setting for children. The staff are extremely caring, and their communication skills are excellent, keeping parents updated both verbally and using the Parent Zone app. This is very user friendly, and I love seeing a snapshot of my child’s day and progress. The staff always have a lovely manner with the children and my boys come home bubbling with enthusiasm for the things they have got up to each day. Forest school, Yoga, Spanish, walks off site, cooking and exploring the nature garden are favourites. I’m very impressed with the different experiences Hey Days offer the children and I have recommended the setting to several other friends and colleagues due to this and other factors. I feel my children are safe, well cared for and thrive at Hey Days and I can’t recommend them highly enough.”

“Our daughter is having a really positive experience at Hey days. She really enjoys, learns, and develops thorough the play and activities she does at nursery. She has very positive friendships and interaction with the other toddlers and with the staff. We regularly receive updates through parent zone, and we receive verbal feedback daily on how her day has been and any issues or concerns we also receive a daily sheet with further information. All staff know our daughter, her interests and personality. We feel we have had the most fantastic support from nursery with our daughters’ allergies and at ease that all staff understand what she can/can’t eat and drink. When there was an additional allergen that we were unaware of the staff kept a food diary that contained details of all food and the ingredients. Thanks to the dedicated work of the staff, we were able to use this information to identify a further allergen in her diet that has now been removed from her food.”

Staff are vigilant in following systems/protocols to ensure that safeguarding and the delivery of activities is at the highest standard. As a result of staffs’ hard work and determination, I have always felt that this environment is the perfect setting for her. The establishment provides my daughter with opportunities to explore the world around her by providing physical experiences: every day is an adventure and the results have been seen in her progress – particularly her developed vocabulary and understanding. Staff (Laura, Libby, Chris, Holly… and the list goes on) have taken time to develop the strongest of relationships with my daughter: setting ambitious targets, celebrating successes, and knowing her likes and dislikes.”
